About the Company:

Sustainable Lumber Co. is located in the mountains of Montana. Well known for artisan craftsmanship, their millwork plant is located within a small rural Mennonite community. A partnership of nine families worked collectively to handcraft their expansive lines of flooring & wall paneling. Their company services a wide range of customers and projects from government projects, state & federal parks, large commercial projects, restaurants, do-it-yourselfers, small cabins, residential homes, resort communities, and developers throughout the country.

100% of their products are locally sourced from reclaimed, salvaged, recycled, and sustainably harvested sources. Their zero waste policy allows them to use everything they harvest. All unusable wood is converted into clean biomass energy which heats their kilns, office, and facilities. All chips and sawdust are donated as animal bedding to local ranchers.

What’s the Difference between Skiplap and Tounge & Groove?

Shiplap, by definition, are “boards that have been milled so that the top and bottom of each piece has a rabbet joint, so they can be stacked as siding“. Shiplap boards rest on top of each other and overlap, while tongue-and-groove boards join together and interlock.

Reclaimed Wind Fence Wall Planks come to us from years of natural elements like snow, wind, rain, and sun. Rescued from working farms and ranches, Reclaimed Wind Fence Wall Planks are 100% all natural; no stain, no paint, and no chemicals.

Wind fence is like sand or snow fence, it forces windblown drifting snow, sand, or debris to accumulate in a desired place. Farmers and ranchers often use wind, sand, or snow fence to create a barrier to protect a designated area.
